"زندگی دم بہ دم، صحرا زرہ بہ زرہ، دریا قطرہ بہ قطرہ۔ میں اس تقسیم پر غور کرتا ہوں۔ ہمیں گنتی کے چند سانس ملے۔ انہیں جو ملا وہ ان گنت ملا۔ صحرا اور دریا نے کہا، کس بات کا شکوہ کرتے ہو تم اشرف المخلوقات ہو۔ مانا کہ زندگی مختصرسہی مگر اس زندگی میں تم جو کچھ کرسکتے ہو وہ بے حد و حساب ہے۔ انسان کی صرف ایک استعداد لے لو جسے قوتِ اظہار کہتے ہیں۔ زمین سے آسمان تک جو کچھ ہے وہ اس کی زد میں ہے۔ قلم ہاتھ میں لو پھر دیکھو تمھاری قلم رو کی وسعت کتنی ہے۔ کوئی پیمانہ اس بے کراں وسعت کی پیمائش نہیں کرسکتا-"
