Sazae-Oni 2023 This series of 12 originalThe Sazae Oni of Japanese legend was once a woman cast into the sea transformed by deep water and time into a being of shell and shadow, neither creature nor human, but something older than both. Like the Nautilus, she carries her world within a spiral each chamber a life lived, each curve a record of the ocean's slow and patient making.
