She was born and raised in Austria, and later attended George Brown College where she was educated in Screen Process Printing. After her time at George Brown, Mayrhofer attended York University where she received her BFA and MA degrees. She has exhibited in Canada, Austria, Korea, Serbia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba and Chile.
