All the different iterations all share three things in common: theyre as tough as nails, theyre as smooth as many reels that are much more expensive, and theyre excellent at withstanding the corrosive saltwater atmosphere - even though these were originally developed as a freshwater bass reel
The rod I tested featured a half wells grip and no fighting butt, however TFO also offers a full wells grip and fighting butt option in the 9-foot, 6-weight model
Daiwa would not sell the ferrofluid that fills these magnetic seals, which leaves you with no option but to send the reels to an official Daiwa service centre if the mag-seal needed care, if the fluid reaches the end of its service life of about 4-5 years, or even if the mag-seal itself is fine but you need to remove it in order to reach other parts of the reel beneath it

Great advice all round
Apply a light coat of a corrosion inhibitor to metal parts, but keep it away from the rod blank itself as some chemicals can degrade the finish over time
