If youre not using a spinning reel with a good drag system or satisfactory line management, youre putting yourself at a major disadvantage when a big fish decides to bite
I caught a dozen or so other fish on the Choppo in that time frame and ended up fishing a swim jig and a buzzbait on this setup a couple trips
The result is a reel that fits into the palm of my hand comfortably, while still having plenty of room in the frame for a large spool capable of holding 130 yards of 50-pound braided line
Its as strong as any reel Ive ever fished with, and its even a touch lighter than some of my other favorite baitcasters that are comparable in strength
Ive had an opportunity to test the new Abu Garcia REVO SX Spinning Reel for the past several months and its one of the more impressive spinning reels Ive used this year
