My go to setup for this application is a 7-foot 4-inch heavy-action Dobyns Champion XP with a Shimano Chronarch 150 MGL in the 7:1 gear ratio
The 15 size is perfect for a mix of mid depth slow pitch jigging and shallower speed jigging, with 17.6lbs of drag giving it enough range to fish up to 40lb braid comfortably while maintaining a smooth drag feel
Practice : I recommend new baitcaster users practice in open areas before hitting the bass grounds
This revamped frogs features improved material for better hookups but still the same durable frog that holds up to heavy abuse on super heavy tackle
Furthermore, you will require lighter lines and draws with fewer snares
This means when spool speed is fast, brake force is much larger
