We chose to paint the rod holders to match the boat, and purchased two cans of spray paint
When the water rises, they have more space to meander around and arrive at places that weren't submerged during low tide
To make the Ion balance better with those long two-handed rods, an optional brass drag knob is available
Word of caution, you will also lose a lot of big fish too
Never had an issue with them myself ( Drennans , mostly )
The lightweight setup feels great in my hands with cork grips and a subtle feel, fingers tight to the rod blank
