It is similar to the Sveshnikov Variation, but there is much less theory to learn. This increasingly popular opening is easy to learn because most of the time the black pieces can be developed quickly and smoothly. When I was considering which variation to play in the Sicilian, Kalashnikov fit the bill in every way. Black has many typical ideas and often attacks. All variations
